C. Richard Buck, B.A., LL.B., C.S.

Richard was called to the bar in 1975. He attended the University of Western Ontario Law School and was on the Dean’s List. He achieved first class Honours at the Ontario Bard Admission Course thereafter.

Richard has been a litigator in Family Law in the Superior Court of Justice approaching fifty (50) years. He has specialized in and conducted complicated high net worth files his entire career. His early years were spent in Toronto, Ontario at Thomson Rogers and the offices of Elliott R. Pepper. Many of Richard’s motions/trials/appeals have been reported in the Law Reports.

Richard has an 88.9 percent approval rating by his peers and has been featured in publications such as Martindale-Hubbel and Best Lawyers in Canada.

Richard is a tenacious and fierce litigator who has achieved outstanding results for his clients whether negotiated or litigated. He has appeared in the Superior Court of Justice motions court, Divisional Court and the Ontario Court of Appeal.

Richard’s geographical span is from Windsor (west) to Parry Sound (north) to Kingston and St. Catharines (south/east) including those Courthouses in between and has historically been well connected with the Family Law Bar in Toronto, Ontario.

Richard partially retired in 2022 and lives six (6) months a year at his island property in Muskoka, Ontario. The other six (6) months he works with the Kelly & Co. law firm as active litigation counsel.

Richard has a “street smart”, imaginative and no-nonsense approach to the conduct of his cases.

Besides his family, Richard has a singular love of Muskoka mahogany launches and is often seen cruising in his twenty-four (24) foot boat “Orenda” on the Muskoka lakes.
